Founder of Subtle Body Yoga & Forces of Light
Julio César Andújar, also known as "the Cu6an," is a first-generation Spanish/Cuban-American teacher and practitioner based in San Diego, California. With a spiritual journey spanning over two decades, Julio has been deeply immersed in the study of Yoga, Sanatana Dharma, and Hawaiian Cultural Practices since 1999. His career is a unique blend of wellness, entertainment, and spiritual teachings.
Julio’s early career as a music producer in the California rave scene and for gangster rappers took a transformative turn after a profound spiritual awakening that guided him to the Hawaiian Islands. There, he lived as a monastic at the Korean Won Buddhist Temple Monastery in Makaha, where he fully embraced Hawaiian culture and began a deep meditation practice. His work extended to various cultural and agricultural organizations, including the Ka'ala Cultural Learning Center, Ma'o Organic Farm, and the Ai Pohaku Program in Wai'anae, Oahu.
In 2004, a pivotal meeting with the Psychedelic pioneer and Bhakti Yoga icon Ram Dass further deepened Julio’s practice, setting him on a path that bridged wellness and spirituality. His experience with Ram Dass continues to influence his personal journey and his work in sharing yoga and wellness with others. Julio has also played key roles in managing major Yoga and Kirtan festivals such as ShaktiFest and Bhaktifest, continuing to produce music and wellness content for transformational festivals under his creative monikers: DJ Lakshmi, Macario Galan, Call Upon Power, and the Cu6an.
Certified through Prana Yoga Center in La Jolla, California, Julio holds 200-hour and 500-hour E-RYT certifications under teacher Gerhard Gessner. He is known for his ability to adapt yoga practices to the needs of the individual, blending Hatha, Bhakti, and classical yogic philosophy in his teachings.
Julio's creative pursuits extend beyond traditional platforms. He is the force behind "Forces of Light" and "105.7 Forces of Light Radio", ventures that blend ancient spiritual practices with cutting-edge technology, including AR/VR wellness tech. His forthcoming projects include a wellness-centered book, a yoga-focused podcast, and immersive content designed to bring transformative spiritual experiences to new generations. Through all these endeavors, Julio remains committed to honoring the roots of his practices while innovating ways to reach people in today's fast-evolving world.
